   First one I got made a clicking noise. Almost like a twig was stuck just in the reach of the fan. I tried all the troubleshooting steps, but unfortunately, nothing helped fix the click. It was annoying enough I had to turn the purifier off during the night.

   Second one I got, the light indicating the filter needed to be replaced, came on within 24 hrs of turning it on. Double checked that the filter was indeed clean and reset the filter time in the app. Next day the light was back to the orangy red color.

   I was really excited about this air purifier but it ultimately didn’t work out for me.

   We’ve had multiple versions of the 400 series Blue Air Filters over the years, and while they have continuously updated the product, this latest version was a substantial improvement. They added an app which is actually very well designed and provides useful controls and additional info (versus many product apps which simply do the same thing as the controls on the product itself). It works very well with Alexa. Finally, they clearly listed to customer feedback. One frustrating aspect of much earlier models was the fact that there was a light on the product that you could not turn off when it was on (I placed a large coin on it every night to block the light). It was annoying in a bedroom where you wanted total darkness. More recent versions of the 400 series had the light turn itself off after a few seconds – presumably folks had complained and to their credit they made an obvious improvements. This newest version finally gives you full control over the light (not just on/off, but full 1-50 intensity variation). I don’t usually write product reviews, but I was really impressed with how much an already good product was improved upon – all for pretty much the same price adjusted for inflation as when I bought it a few years back. Highly recommend this product.

   This air purifier is amazing. You can see it in action when someone is cooking. There are no more odors from the kitchen or the litterbox. The dust in this house is now almost non existant and the two chronic sneezers in the house are no longer sneezing!!! The results were noticable with in an hour of turning it on! It integrates with your phone and your WiFi and lets you know when it time to clean and or change your filters.

   It isn’t often a product like this surprises me, but the quality of this device is amazing. I have the higher end device which can detect PM1 material, and the device can detect when the window is open with the slight change in air quality. I have had someone pass gas, and the air filter has detected the change in air quality. I have cooked bacon, where the grease and fumes are hard to exhaust outbound, and this device does a great job in cleaning the air after cooking. My filters are working overdrive, so I would tell any other consumers to expect to replace filters every 4-5 months instead of 6. Also, do not purchase third-party replacement filters as they are paper thin and do not work. Wait for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, and purchase multiple filters when they go on sale. The air flow is impressive. The fan is quiet, even on the highest setting. The device does connect to WiFi (optional) if you want to set schedules throughout the day. I personally just run my device 24 hours. The value I paid for mine is great. I purchased my device about six months ago during the Black Friday promotion, and ended up purchasing a second one for a family member.

   I got so tired of reading conflicting reviews on all the many different medium room size air purifiers that I finally settled on this model. It seems a bit pricy compared to many of the others of comparable size, especially since all of these tend to have a prefilter, a paper filter, and a charcoal filter layer. All these air purifiers are essentially the filter powered by a fan pulling in the air through the filter and then sending the filtered air out. Logic would dictate they are all doing the same thing. The plusses for this model: This model is ready to use out of the box and has a very quiet fan. You get added features if you connect using your phone app. Downside: unit is very finicky about connecting to your phone. I had to try several times. It does tend to make the room feel cold, and filter replacements are expensive and non-OEM filter choices are extremely limited.

   I love this purifier! It fits my aesthetic and matches other devices in the living room. More importantly, it does a great just of cleaning the air. It’s a night and day difference between when it’s been running and when it’s off. I can tell because sometimes my toddlers like to touch the buttons and I could tell it was off one day when I got home from work😅. Yes the child lock works because I put it on after this happened a few times 😁 ( I like them to be curious about things)

   Great machine. You pay for the quality but it’s quality you get.

   I use it in my bedroom for allergy season. On night mode, it is impossible to hear. On level one, you can barely hear it. I keep it on level one. Automatic works well – the speed increased when I had a smoky air fry. The design is nice, and well thought out. The fabric prefilter is super easy to remove and wash.

   The Bluetooth connection works well and it’s nice to see the current and history of how clean the air is.

   There are no cons here. Great unit.

   Based on the amount of dust that my home gets in just a few days, I always wondered if that is one of the reasons one would get sick or maybe just congested. For peace of mind plus thoughts of unknown air toxins, I purchased this air purifier. So far, I only once saw the gauge hit 2% and that was while I was using a blow dryer near it as I dried my hair. Other than that, it remains on 0% whenever I glance at it. It is located right next to my bedroom door, so I glance at it multiple times a day. Outside my bedroom door is a hallway with 3 other bedrooms plus a bathroom and a flight of stairs going to the lower level. This air purifier seems to be doing its job on the top floor of my home. The filter is also hanging on to 80% and I’ve had it for 3 months. If I calculate this correctly, I might have to change the filter 1 time a year; give or take! I also like that it has a low volume hum which is not annoying and actually is comforting when going to sleep! It is a good buy and I do recommend it, for at the least, giving you peace of mind! Update: 5 months later…2 things occurred since purchase… 1. Somehow, I couldn’t re-establish the wifi, but eventually, I figured it out and reconnected. 2. This one is the most important….I was downstairs cooking short ribs for a large family gathering. Haven’t used my oven for a while and I opened it to check the ribs and a medium puff of smoke came out from cheese at the bottom of the oven that was slowly burning. I didn’t think anything of it, until a 1/2 hour later when I went upstairs for something, the Blueair was churning at a much higher number then the normal 0%!! I thought there was something wrong with it! Then realized, the smoke had traveled from one corner of the house to the total opposite side going up the stairs and into my bedroom. It was not visual, but apparently the Blueair could “see” it and it was churning away until the area was purified, once again! Even our smoke alarms didn’t go off, so it was really a minimal amount of smoke, but Me and Hubby were really impressed! Recommend this to anybody and everybody!!

    Very nice. Has multiple air flow settings. Love there is a light at the front that changes from red-blue depending how the air quality is. I love you can connect it to an app and control it from your phone. it tells you how much life the filter has and gives you the option to replace it from your app. The app even has a tracking table that shows when you had bad air quality and when it got better. Easy to function. you can set it up on a timer or leave it on. I’d say the price is perfect for what you are getting.

    I don’t know why I never used an air purifier before. Every allergy season, I’d just suffer — gasping, sneezing, drowning in my own tears while watching everyone else enjoy the spring.
    Now I still watch people enjoy the spring… but from inside my house — happily breathing, allergy-free, and honestly, kind of smug about it.

    So yeah, that’s why you get this.

    As for the Blueair 211i Max itself — it’s fantastic. The app is well-designed, easy to use, gives great info, and lets you fine-tune everything. Automatic mode works really well. I put one in the kitchen (no range hood), and it kicks on the moment we start cooking. No lingering smells in the living room or bedroom. Amazing.

    At night, the display is a bit bright — even in night mode, it glows noticeably. But here’s the trick: in the app, instead of night mode, just set the display brightness to 0 and keep the fan on low. Problem solved.
