   I have been trying to get rid of a dank smell in a storage room for about a month. I tried running a fan for days, I tried vacuuming with baking soda several times and I even tried putting a bowl of vinegar to see if the smell would go away. Then my friend’s husband suggested an air ionizer. I researched it and then actually decided on this Blueair air purifier instead. Blueair is ranked no.1 on Consumer reports. The unit came today, I was anxious to plug it in. I am not joking when I tell you the storage room smell disappeared in less than 60 seconds. It really truly works.

   I began using one of these air purifiers in a small bedroom immediately after it arrived. That was 10 months ago as of this writing and I run it on low 24/7. I hoped that because it would be working in a relatively small space that’s enclosed except for a single door, it would virtually eliminate the dust that accumulates in there. Well it doesn’t. Please see my photo. The room is approximately 250 sq ft, which is miniscule compared to the size space these things are supposed to be able to purify. So I’m a very disappointed customer. Other than it not making a noticeable impact on the dust in this room, I’ve had no problems with it; it’s very quiet and there’s been no odor. I’ve changed the filter precisely on schedule as recommended by the manufacturer (which is also where I buy the filters from), so I feel it should be doing a MUCH better job reducing dust.

   Arrived on time and in excellent condition. I have used them for over a month now and they have helped with my allergies. Quiet on the lowest setting but does get a bit louder on the higher settings.

   …my first review was never published here because I ordered the two-pack and only received ONE and posted I had issues with customer service (blueairoutlet.com) in resolving the matter. But, after 3 weeks of operation of the ONE I actually received, at first, I was immediately impressed with the nearly immediate change in air quality. The air smelled very fresh for the first several days or so. Blue Air recommends you run the unit on high setting for the first 24/48 hours, which I did. After that, I turned it to the more quiet, medium setting, and it didn’t work well at all at getting rid of the odors (I have two small dogs) so I turned it back to high and it seems to be working to control the odors and dust again. I’m amazed at the amount of dust & hair particles that accumulated after just less than a week’s worth of use! The unit is a bit noisier on high, but it’s like a soothing white noise to me so it’s not bothersome at all. Evidently, I’ll have to run on high. Will update in another month or so.

   5th month filters changed first time. Clearly they did a good job, dirtier one was in main living area, less dirty in the bedroom. Always on, it’s easy to change out the cloth pre-filter for washing. I’ve had several filters and these work well!

   I have 6 large long hair dogs and they love to roll in the dirt outside and bring it into the house creating a very dusty environment. I purchased two of these 211+ units a year ago and placed them in the rooms the dogs spend most of their time in. Each room is less than 250 square feet. Room size is well under the advertised capacity of the 211+. My expectation was to filter out as much of the fine particle airborne dust as possible, even if it meant replacing the filters frequently. The 211+ just does not work. I noticed the top and bottom of the fan housing of the 211+ kept getting very dirty and dirt was just bypassing the filter element and getting recirculated back into the room. The filter caught some of the dust/dirt but nothing in comparison to a different brand purifier I have that has gaskets on the filters to force ALL the air through the filter. The unit is solid, looks good but does not work effectively. It needs some type of filter gasket to keep air from bypassing the filter. The pictures I’ve added are two weeks after cleaning the unit and changing the filter, the filter was still clean. Disappointed in the results.

   I received the purifiers (I ordered the 2-pack as it was an amazing deal!). Be sure you have somewhere safe to retrieve, the boxes VERY clearly show what’s in then, and they’re large. Unboxing/setup – It took maybe five minutes for each unit to be unpacked, have the pre-filter attached and the unit plugged in. Instruction booklet was super simple step by step. As my pictures show, one is in my living room and one in my bedroom. I know technically they’re meant for spaces twice as large as I have them in, but I have an apartment with no ventilation besides the windows, and walls spaced in a way that does not support air flow. To turn it on/off/adjust levels is literally one step, just gently press where the “blue” logo is. I have it on the middle setting at the moment and the noise is comparable to the tower fan that was there before, so no problems there. They’ve only been plugged in for an hour but I’m already starting to smell a change in the air. My units have not let off any of the odors other recent reviewers mentioned. The first two pictures are of course where I placed each purifier. The last photo is with all lights off, to show how much it emits compared to a plain digital clock, aka not Hopefully I won’t have to edit this in a few weeks!
