  • Too narrow doesn’t fit my 311imax

  • 5 out of 5
I apparently didn't pay enough attention or watch the video the first time I replaced the filter and I ended up thinking it was too tall, but I verified the model and it matched, so I made it work. I watched the video this time and this filter is definitely at least 2 inches too tall for my 311i Max, as you can see in the picture. Assuming the fan is strong enough, which it seems to be based on the dirty filter, and you don't need the motor to attach to the base for safety reasons, this is probably a good thing. The pre-filter is just long enough to cover the filter, but the bottom covers the very bottom of the filter instead of reaching to the base. I can't give it 5 stars, though, because it's not the correct size for the product to be put together as it should be. The top is supposed to screw on and attach to the base, but it's way too high up to reach when resting on this filter.

  • It does a wonderful job purifying the air but makes too much noise (hums) to leave on at night. My brother bought one just like mine and it is so quiet you don’t know it’s on.

  • So I live in an apartment with a seven-month-old, and we bought this to make sure that he doesn't inhale too much of the outside pollution while inside our own home. So we are very satisfied that this product does as it claims to filter out particulates in the air and provide a healthier breathing experience. Furthermore, through IFTTT features we are afforded better visibility into the air quality within our home and better integration with things such as our smart thermometer and smart locks. We will definitely purchase another model when we move into a permanent residence. Edited 2 OCT 20: I think this is a fantastic purchase still after a few months and the subscription service for filters is awesome. Be aware that there are two types of filter and they're in different cost brackets. You'll get what you pay for, but the double filters can be expensive. Also, I feel like the room this is in needs to be aired out for the single filter to work effectively on it's lowest and quietest setting.

  • I received the purifiers (I ordered the 2-pack as it was an amazing deal!). Be sure you have somewhere safe to retrieve, the boxes VERY clearly show what’s in then, and they’re large. Unboxing/setup - It took maybe five minutes for each unit to be unpacked, have the pre-filter attached and the unit plugged in. Instruction booklet was super simple step by step. As my pictures show, one is in my living room and one in my bedroom. I know technically they’re meant for spaces twice as large as I have them in, but I have an apartment with no ventilation besides the windows, and walls spaced in a way that does not support air flow. To turn it on/off/adjust levels is literally one step, just gently press where the “blue” logo is. I have it on the middle setting at the moment and the noise is comparable to the tower fan that was there before, so no problems there. They’ve only been plugged in for an hour but I’m already starting to smell a change in the air. My units have not let off any of the odors other recent reviewers mentioned. The first two pictures are of course where I placed each purifier. The last photo is with all lights off, to show how much it emits compared to a plain digital clock, aka not Hopefully I won’t have to edit this in a few weeks!

  • The other regular particle filter version works great at filtering out dust. However, with this smokestop filter, it gets rid of odors and general outdoor smog that gets its way into your house. The room smells better after running it for less than an hour. Plus: it makes the unit run quieter as the carbon filter section actually acts like a sound baffle to block out some of the fan noise. Usually with the regular particle filter, even on low speed for my 650E, I can still hear a whirling fan sound. With this filter, I can hardly hear it and can leave it on low for the whole night. With the regular particle filter version, when the electronic sensor would detect VOCs (volatile organic compounds)/odor, it would kick the fan on high and it would be a long time until the odor is diffused/lessened, for the fan to slow down. With the smokestop filter, the VOC/odor gets reduced in a few minutes and the cleaner does not stay on high for long. Minus: it reduces the airflow output. The carbon filter section actually restricts airflow quite a bit, I would say more than half the airflow is reduced. However, it still does its job. And of course it costs about twice as much as the regular particle filter. In my opinion, if your blueair electronic sensor (on the 550E/650E models) detects VOCs/odors more than it detects dust, then this is the filter to get!

  • Product came slightly damaged and because of that wouldn’t fit properly to allow purifier door to close. Directions were followed vey carefully

  • Look at the pictures first. Very disappointed with these filters for Blue air. They make a big fuss and charge you 2x the generic ones by saying they fit perfectly, but that is a lie. Due to being folded up and shipped flat, they seems where it folds at the sides gets very stretched out, effectively removing the sealed filter due to leaving a large gap between the filter and the frame. Very unhappy with these. Debating if I return and just get off brand ones. For reference, I own two 311 and two 411. I’ve never been happy with blue air. They became quite noisy very quickly, as if they are poorly balanced and constructed. I have a few Levoit and Winnix as well, and find the design and performance and noise to be better overall. Especially like the brands that have the filter and frame as a single unit, ensuring a snug fit. I guess this is not only a review of the replacement filters but also of the purifier in general. I won’t be buying blue air again. Levoit is much better, in my opinion. TL;DR…buy generic for half the price. These do not fit well due to how they are shipped.

  • This is a very nice large air purifier. It has quite a few functions that make it convenient to use. It has a schedule setting where you can schedule it to turn on for a certain amount of time at a certain time of day that works for you. I have mine turn on late at night for an hour now that it has run off and on for the first few days to clean the air initially. It has an auto button where it turns on and off on its own schedule. A fan speed button which is nice because as you get to the higher levels it gets louder. The app is easy to set up and use and I like that it tells you how your air quality is inside your home and is also able to tell you the quality of the air outside your home if you input your location. It has two rollers on the back that are supposed to help in moving the unit but they are not big enough as you can barely tip it or it is too much of an angle for the rollers so I have to pick it up to move it and it is not a light machine and it is quite large so hard for me to move from one room to another or up a level.

  • This is a good product, but don’t buy from blueairoutlet.com or shipped from blueairoutlet.com because this is the condition that the product shows up in when shipped from blueairoutlet.com - torn damaged ripped up! And this is five out of five for them of recent packages that I’ve purchased from blueairoutlet.com that have shown up this way. Really sad how far blueairoutlet.com has slipped. You used to be able to rely on them for consistently high service and delivery.

I ordered 311+max and this is completely misleading. This does not fit + max model size. It looks to be for the regular 311max.

  • I hate paying so much for a filter as we have 3 of these units BUT I think it’s worth it to buy the genuine model. I’ve tried a couple of different knock-off brands and I just don’t think they work as well as they seem to mess up the auto function. One of my units continuously kept going back and forth between settings 2 & 3 and the only way to stop this was to turn off auto. This has not happened with the Blueair filter. When changing the knock-offs they also don’t seem to be as dirty as the Blueair brand for some reason plus the Blueair seems to slide in and fit better and are easier to remove. I'm not a germophobe or fanatic but my air just seems fresher. These new ones I just purchased have different instructions on the sides. Instead of saying “This side must face back or front” there’s just a sticker with an arrow indicating AIR FLOW DIRECTION. I pulled this sticker back and sure enough it covered the original side placement instructions. I’m really not sure if this is really clearer as it was a little confusing to me. However, looks like the metal side goes facing the intake and the corrugated side faces the control side. Seems to be working great and I think I’ll stick with the Blueair from now on. Don’t be alarmed by the slight oil odor when you first install as it seems to dissipate very quickly.

  • I have 6 large long hair dogs and they love to roll in the dirt outside and bring it into the house creating a very dusty environment. I purchased two of these 211+ units a year ago and placed them in the rooms the dogs spend most of their time in. Each room is less than 250 square feet. Room size is well under the advertised capacity of the 211+. My expectation was to filter out as much of the fine particle airborne dust as possible, even if it meant replacing the filters frequently. The 211+ just does not work. I noticed the top and bottom of the fan housing of the 211+ kept getting very dirty and dirt was just bypassing the filter element and getting recirculated back into the room. The filter caught some of the dust/dirt but nothing in comparison to a different brand purifier I have that has gaskets on the filters to force ALL the air through the filter. The unit is solid, looks good but does not work effectively. It needs some type of filter gasket to keep air from bypassing the filter. The pictures I've added are two weeks after cleaning the unit and changing the filter, the filter was still clean. Disappointed in the results.

  • This is an excellent product. Easy to install and perfectly does its work. A gave three stars because of TERRIBLE DELIVERY, This a second time, I am receiving filters with damages, in damaged original manufacturer's box. Personally, I decided to buy this filter in the future somewhere else.

  • Very nice. Has multiple air flow settings. Love there is a light at the front that changes from red-blue depending how the air quality is. I love you can connect it to an app and control it from your phone. it tells you how much life the filter has and gives you the option to replace it from your app. The app even has a tracking table that shows when you had bad air quality and when it got better. Easy to function. you can set it up on a timer or leave it on. I’d say the price is perfect for what you are getting.
