  • I purchased the Purifier roughly 8 months ago. I did a lot of research because it was not cheap, and neither are the filter replacements. The researched paid off. I am a smoker, and have smokers in my home from time to time. This purifier is a beast and the filters are amazing. I wish I would have purchased it earlier. I was going to get off brand filters but they were not much cheaper, and these were still going strong after 8 months, the app said they were at 16% but I could tell around the 6 month mark they were starting to not do as good of a job. The Blueair is a Winner, and I will probably buy another for my office. The filters are heavy duty and the whole product is better than I could have imagined. Kudos to the designers and manufacturers.

  • Not sure why, but it's too tall and loose.

  • I didn’t know I needed to wait for the light to turn orange to indicate a filter change. First time i changed my filter was 6 months after purchase and the used one still looked good. Recently bought the filter again since my sister wanted to test my purifier out but things happen and never got the chance. I finally had the chance to see the light turn orange this time and this used filter scared me when I pulled it out. I was NOT ready to see this. Don’t let the light on your purifier tell you when to change the filter!

  • This premium air purifier is incredible! We placed it in our upstairs toy room which strategically works for our entire upstairs. The purifier is super simply to set up and takes just a few minutes to have up and running. The purifier is straight forward and easy to use. The instruction manual is also super simple and straight forward to follow. The design for this air purifier and companion app is fantastic! The app is a breeze to use! It helps to enable seamless control of the purifier 24/7. It also helps to monitor the filter life. Once assembled the purifier is near silent. I really only hear the air purifier when the air quality plummets due to like burning bacon or smoothing. It doesn't omit any strange or bothersome scents even when first turned on. The purifier has excellent range and purification capabilities! I do always notice a difference when I cook despite our kitchen being on the first floor. It doesn't matter what I cook the purifier always kicks up when I cook. It's not loud of intrusive but, its like subtle fan kicks on when the air quality goes up to like 65 or more. It's amazing how well this purifier works. It's amazing how much I didn't consider the air quality in our home until we got the air purifier in our kitchen. Even with the air purifier in our kitchen on the first flor it doesn't prevent our upstairs area from poor air quality especially when I burn some bacon or something. lol All that said I couldn't be more impressed with this air purifier. The only complaint I would mention is that it's not compact. It's a large device that takes up a good amount of space & needs to be strategically placed. It can't just be placed in a corner as it needs to be able to circulate air well. All in all though, this purifier is amazing! It really works and it works really well!! It does provide a noticeable difference in the air we breathe. It helps with my seasonal allergies by keeping the air fresh and clean. I am VERY happy with this purifier and would absolutely highly recommend it! I would just mention to keep in mind the size of the purifier and the space it needs to function properly.

  • I ordered this filter a few months ago and just got around to replacing it. It is dirtier than the filter I already have on it! I don’t even know how that happened since it came in sealed plastic. What a ripoff!!!

  • Can't control the heat with the app or remote. You can at least turn it on with the remote (not the app) but to change the temp you have to manually press the buttons on the heater. Doesn't really heat. After running the heater, the room isn't any warmer than before. No air conditioning. This fan only blows air but it does blow cold air.

Love it. Shipped as stated and very easy to assemble! 5 stars. Will purchase again.

  • I don’t have space in my apartment for multiple types of devices so this was a great option for me. I’ve been very happy with it so far!

  • I waited two months before leaving a review and all I can say is it truly works. You can see in the picture where the pre filter and filter is brown with dirt/dust/allergens. The air is always fresh and the filter is so quiet and on its highest setting makes for a good white noise.

  • Amazing. I came across this because it came highly recommended by the New York Times. Beautiful, modern design. Blends in with my white furniture. Provides crisp, clean air. I have been having respiratory problems lately and this really helps me breathe easier! The price is worth it!

  • This air purifier is amazing. You can see it in action when someone is cooking. There are no more odors from the kitchen or the litterbox. The dust in this house is now almost non existant and the two chronic sneezers in the house are no longer sneezing!!! The results were noticable with in an hour of turning it on! It integrates with your phone and your WiFi and lets you know when it time to clean and or change your filters.

  • These HEPA filters are great. If you have allergies or just want to cut down on the dust in your house, this is the way to go I have not yet tried the off brand filters for this air purifier, maybe someday i will try, but it is hard to go away from what i know works. They are a little spendy, I would recommend using a pre carbon filter on top of this, the carbon filter will pick up the larger particles and that will extend the life of this Blueair filter Do it!

  • Short version. Superb filtering, vertical discharge, high air flow, low noise, low power consumption, solid app, not cat friendly, MUCH bigger in person. Awkward to move as there are no handles or indentations to grip it with. There is a small ionizer that can't be turned off (only 5 parts per billion, practically zero). The carbon part of the filter is worthless and adds an odd odor. It faintly smells like an old campfire pit that has gotten wet. To summarize: This is a big help with filtering out air born particles in the PM1 range when used in smaller spaces and when run on higher speeds. Long version. Exterior fabric pre filter stretches over a non HEPA filter. There is a weak ionizer to supplement the main filter so that it filters at HEPA levels without all of the back pressure issues associated with the tighter weaves of a true HEPA filter. With this design they are able to have really high CADR's with low power consumption and moderate to very low noise levels. Nice compromise. I like it. The ionizer emits a maximum of 5 PPB of ozone which is 25 times under the FDA limit for indoor medical devices. The ionizer cannot be turned off. I see no dirt sticking to the walls so it might be a bipolar device. Either way it works well. There is also a thinly coated woven carbon fiber mesh that is supposed to help with odors and VOC's but it does nothing at all. My VOC meter did not budge in the slightest. The activated carbon filter also adds an odor that faintly smells like the ashes in a wet camp fire. Again, it's very faint. It did fade some over the first month but not completely. BlueAir sent me another filter cartridge and it had the same problem. My 311i+MAX had the same off gassing odor for a few days but then it dissipated. Others have commented about the 211 odor issue on blueairoutlet.com, so maybe it's a hit or miss problem or maybe I just don't like wet campfires. The carbon inner filter can be peeled off of the inside of the main filter. It wasn't hard. I'm not sure if it's a structural part of the main filter. I didn't get a chance to try it out before I sent it back. I really wanted to keep the 211 around as my main work horse to protect the HEPA and carbon filters on my more expensive air purifiers. I bought this for my ragweed allergies and for severe allergies to household dust. For that purpose it's done a super job and my particle meter stays near zero. My head and lungs breathe easier and there is less dust in general. The main filter has a tremendous amount of surface area. I took it apart and stretched it out and it is 64 feet long and 9 1/2"s wide. Pretty impressive. To get complete relief I had to run it much harder than I imagined. In my 150 sq. ft. bedroom with 11' ceilings I leave it set on the 3rd highest speed 24 hours a day. I relocate it one day a week and will run it on high all that day along with a high speed floor fan assisting it to help get all of the allergens airborne until they are captured by the 211's filter. I also follow all of my allergist suggestions as far as bedroom hygiene (which is a lot of extra work). All of this together gives me compete relief and I can breathe and I save a ton of money on Tier 4 drugs. (Household dust triggers my COPD). Some comments on airflow and correct sizing. I started with the BlueAir 311i+MAX and needed to run that at it's highest speed to keep the dust under control and to offset the effects of a dirty HVAC system. (My system can deliver dirty air at a rate faster than the purifier can clean it). Running the 311 wide open was an annoying amount of noise so I moved up to the 211i+MAX and ran it on 3. Lower speeds did not benefit me very much. Sleep mode and low did absolutely nothing for my breathing. Keeping the purifier clean has been far more work than I imagined. The exterior pre filter (sock) is a very loose weave when stretched out over the machine and it lets quite a bit of dust get through to the main filter. I vacuum the exterior pre filter sock every 4 to 7 days and will vacuum the main filter at the same time. My vacuum cleaner has pretty high airflow and I was collecting about a quarter cup of poofy to a very fine dust every cleaning session. N95 mask recommended. This has been a wonderful machine and I love it but I hated the smell so I sent it back on the last day. It took 7 more days for the odor to fade away. I'm not sure if it's just me or if any average person would react to that smell like I did. BlueAir needs to do better. The thin plastic mesh that they lightly dusted with activated carbon and then glued to the inside of the main filter is worthless and needs to go. To advertise it as effective with VOC's and odors is dishonest. A high integrity company would not do that. This is a classy and high functioning particle air purifier that can clean A LOT of air cheaply but it's hampered by a cheesy and cheap activated carbon dust insert. Power consumption was outstanding. On the lowest speed it burned 6.25 watts. Second speed 10 watts. Third speed 18 watts (amazing airflow). Highest speed 41 watts. Power consumption remained steady as I simulated a clogged filter. The LED's and displays can be dimmed with the control panel or the app. The app really began to grow on me over time. It gives you compete control of the machine and the ability to make incremental blower speed adjustments. The app is 2.4GHz only. Very nice air purifier. The fit and finish is good and it looks good. It also performs well. My lungs found its presence in my bedroom to be comforting and healing.

  • I purchased this with the intent of cleaning the air in my 900sqft apartment. Living in NYC comes with a variety of unique life situations. This purifier has helped keep my air clean and allergies in check. The photo I posted was of 6 months of use—I changed it per the recommendation of Blue at the 6 month mark. My apartment does not have central air and I believe this has especially kept the air fresh and easier to breathe. I have a deviated septum in my nose which makes breathing difficult when allergy season comes. However, I suffer from this all year round. It’s essentially a bone that’s misaligned and allows less air to flow to my lungs. When the air is clean my breathing is more productive. This unit has made breathing tremendously better and easier for me.

  • Check the dimensions. I ordered this as a replacement filter for my Pure Blue 311 air purifier. I ordered some for my smaller 411 at the same time. The 411 is fine but as you can see by the pic the 311 is too tall.
